In short..
The important info of this post can be summarised as follows…
- The following applies from 1st July to 2nd August
- Morning groups will start at 10:30
- There are no afternoon groups or pre-instrumental classes
- No Tuesday mornings in Raheny until 20th August
- Places are limited on Fridays in Clontarf, so book in advance.
Change of time
Since primary schools are finished for the Summer, Rainbow Phil will be starting at the slightly later time of 10:30 so that those with older siblings in Summer Camps have time to drop them off and get down to Rainbow Phil in time.
If you forget the change of time and arrive at 10am then don’t stress, you can keep me company while I put chairs out and get set up!
What’s Missing?
During the Summer months, I will not be doing;
- Tuesday mornings in Raheny
- Wednesday afternoons in Drumcondra
- Some Thursdays in Clongriffin Junction
- Afterschool Pre-Instrumental classes
But don’t panic, these will all resume in September.
The Thursday mornings in Clongriffin that are missing are 11th and 18th July
Whats the deal with Fridays in Clontarf?
As the main hall in St Gabriel’s Parish Centre always gets booked up with Summer Camps during July, Rainbow Phil gets moved to the Montessori Classroom to the right of the main entrance to the Parish Centre. The room is an ok size for up to 12 families or so, but any more than that and it will become a bit of a squash and a squeeze..
Due to the limited space, advance booking is very much advised as I really don’t to turn people away who just randomly turn up. To book your place simply scroll to the bottom of this page and fill in the booking form, if you select all the available dates it will activate the 20% discount and you will get one class for FREE!!
What about the other days/locations?
As well as starting at 10:30, the mornings group will be as follows;
- Mondays in Drumcondra will remain the same
- Tuesdays in Raheny will resume in September
- Wednesdays in Portmarnock will remain the same with 17th & 24th being upstairs in the bar area
- Thursday in Clongriffin Junction will take place on 4th & 25th July and 1st August
For Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays you can avail of the 20% discount offer when you book all five available dates. Simply select all of the five available dates on the booking form and you will only pay for four of them – BARGAIN!!
However, for Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays you can also simply turn up on the day without pre-booking and that is also fine – I can take cash, card or Revolut in person. If you want to drop in on Fridays, please txt me before hand to check if there are still places available.
Surely Rainbow Phil deserves a holiday??
Why thank you for thinking of me! I am indeed taking a holiday in August, I will be away from 5th to 16th August with my my usual 10am schedule resuming from Monday 19th August, which will also see a return of Tuesday mornings in Cara Hall, Raheny.
September??
While it’s early days, I plan to resume pretty much the same schedule in September which includes
- Wednesday afternoons in Drumcondra for all ages – book in advance or PAYG
- Afterschool Pre-Instrumental classes for Junior and Senior infants (3 or 4yrs plus) – enrolled by the term
What are these “afterschool pre-instrumental classes”??
These classes take place in small groups and are focused on learning the building blocks of music theory and developing the singing voice, through the use of drumming games, rhythm flash cards and sing-along songs, among other techniques and activities. They currently take place in the following locations.
- Mondays at 14:10 in the Pelletstown Educate Together National School (jr/sr infants)
- Mondays at 15:10 in the Pelletstown Educate Together National School (Neurodivergent Friendly/additional needs class)
- Tuesdays at 14:15 in the Killester Raheny Clontarf Educate Together National School (jr/sr infants)
- Tuedays at 16:00 in Clongriffin Junction (kids ages 3+ of any/mixed abilities neurotypical or otherwise)
While booking for these classes is currently not available, I am taking names and numbers for a notification list for priority booking nearer the time. If you would like to be included on this list simply drop me a message.
