Afternoon music classes for the slightly older kids, taking place on Tuesdays in the Killester Raheny Clontarf Educate Together National School at 14:10 and again on Tuesdays in Clongriffin Junction at 4pm
Parents and caregivers are welcome to stay and observe the classes
What’s Involved?
These classes last an hour and take place in small groups in order to keep things focused. Kids can expect plenty of hands on time with a variety of drums and percussion instruments, as well as songs both familiar and new.
Some of the musical concepts we will be exploring include;
- Beat/pulse
- Tempo (fast/slow)
- Dynamics (loud/soft)
- Recognising and singing the major scale (particularly the first five notes)
- Developing singing skills
- Developing listening skills
- Playing together collaboratively (drum ensemble work)
- Sonic exploration
Cost
Booking for these classes is essential and is done on a half term basis (usually per 5 weeks), if you would like to join us part way through the term, just drop me a message. If there is space available then you’ll only pay the weeks you’ll attend. It works out as follows;
- Clongriffin Junction €12.50 per week
- KRC ETNS €15 per week
For siblings, just set the quantity to 2 before tapping the add to basket/buy now button.
I do have a cheaper and more flexible pay as you go sessions on Wednesday afternoons in Drumcondra at 3:30pm – however, these Wednesday afternoons are mostly singing and puppets etc, are open to all ages and children MUST be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

PAYG all ages afternoon classes
If you’re looking for something less formal, more along the lines of what I do in the mornings, but in the afternoons, then look no further because you’ve struck gold!!
