Halloween Special Information Page

This page is for those who have booked a place at my Halloween Special form 28th to 31st October 2023 – It contains the information you need to know to make these shows as enjoyable for everyone attending.

All the shows across all four days are totally sold out, in some cases they are slightly over booked. While it doesn’t mean this will become “Squash and a Squeeze: The Musical” it does mean that it will be a little cosy in there. Please read through the following information and let me know if you have any questions at all (WhatsApp in the best way to contact me)

Where?

You will find me in the room opposite Olive’s Room in The Red Stables courtyard in St Anne’s Park. Tap on the link below to see the location on Google Maps

Parking

There is a car park beside The Red Stables, accessed via Mount Prospect Avenue. Spaces are limited however, and it is often full especially on Saturdays due to the market and Park Run. You may find street parking in the local area easier and just be prepared to walk a little way to get to the park.

Adults

There is no charge for adults attending, but I politely request that you bring no more than two adults per family. This is due to the limited space inside the room. Speaking of which, there is seating available, but please be prepared to sit on the floor. Chairs will be available on a first come first served basis, but please be prepared to give up your chair for those who are pregnant, elderly or less able.

Buggies

Please leave buggies outside the room. Bring rain covers if necessary as there will not be space in the room to accommodate buggies. If for some reason you really need to keep your child in their buggy for the show then please let me know in advance so that I can create space.

When you arrive

There are no physical tickets for this event. I have the names and phone numbers of everyone who booked a place saved on a spreadsheet on my phone. When you arrive you just need to tell me your name (or the adult who booked) and I will mark you off the list.

Backdrop, puppets and props

Please leave all of these things alone! Everything is set up in a very specific way so that the puppet show will flow as smoothly as possible. The backdrop is held up by drawing pins, so please no pulling on it. No one is allowed behind the backdrop except Rainbow Phil.

The show

The show is divided into three sections. It will begin at around ten passed the hour and finish up around ten to the hour. Please arrive on the hour so that we can have everyone settled and ready to start promptly. Here is the order of things;

  • Warm up songs
  • Puppet show/story section
  • Additional song about “The Magic Words” followed by bubbles and parachute

During the puppet show section I politely request that grown ups keep chit chat to a minimum and kids remain seated if possible. Of course I understand that the age group we’re working with aren’t designed to sit still for very long, so some movement in the room is fine as long as it’s not disruptive.

If you are booked in for the additional needs show on Saturday at 12noon, then don’t worry about disruptions etc I’ve allowed extra time for this show so we can navigate any interruptions without any hassle.

Dressing up

Wearing your Halloween costumes is encouraged but optional.

Ticket transfers and refunds

I’m getting a handful of messages everyday asking if I have any spaces available. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are no longer able to attend and I will be able to issue a refund. However there will be no refunds for anyone who cancels less than 24 hours before the start of the show.

You can transfer your “ticket” to a friend if you want to. All they need to do is tell me the name of the person who booked when they arrive, so you don’t need to let me know in advance. If you booked for one child and they have two children then if they can bring the extra fiver in cash that would be appreciated (my card reader doesn’t work well in the park)

Photos, videos and social media

The taking of photos and videos is allowed at any point in the show, but please be mindful of the following;

  • Try to only include your own child in what you take
  • DO NOT upload content of any children, other than your own, to social media without their parents consent.
  • You have consent to take pictures and videos of Rainbow Phil and upload them to social media. In fact, please do and please tag me on Instagram!

One last thing

Enjoy the show and have fun! I’ve done this show many times over the years and it’s great craic for both kids and grown ups!

  1. Hi, could I please have a refund, I didn’t realise that it would be so busy & the children couldn’t stay in their prams. My little boy is 3 and has Autism, he will not sit on a floor or stay easy which is why I need him in his pram. He is also not able for crowds. Thank you
